THE SLOPE is a comedy that follows the lives of a lesbian couple navigating their way through modern-day Park Slope, Brooklyn. One year into their relationship, Ingrid and Desiree continue to hash out a power dynamic that ends up making them look homophobic, superficial and ultimately, perfect for one another.

Lauren, another Brooklyn-based Smithie and internet-er.
thanks all! Brooklyn is full of the Smithies.
oh my god. so funny. very watchable and smart. cant wait for the next episode
we hope the next episode starts a drinking game called “Top or Bottom?” spread the word.
Great show! Episode 3 was the best so far. In the wake of a bad 3rd season of Anyone But Me, I’m glad to find a new lesbian web series to love. Thanks!
Ooh yeah! just saw this on AfterEllen. Absolutely love it!
Episode 4: Hilariously true!! I have had this conversation, not with a partner because I date hard butches, but with virtually everyone else. ha! Love this show.
Oh man, maybe I should start dating hard butches. -Desiree
Tops “The Burg” in my booklet.
Oh YAY! I used to watch that a lot. I love their opening credit sequence.
Insane silent laughing in my cubic region at work all day today! Thanks! Just posted it to Big Shoe Diaries, so we’ll be sending some boyz your way – http://bigshoediaries.blogspot.com/2011/09/superficial-homophobic-lesbians-discuss.html
You should have gay porn start, Colby Keller cameo for an episode about lesbians and gay porn (you know it will write itself).
Love the show you guys are very funny 🙂
thanks so much!
Your show is so funny. Thank you for making me laugh.
I just discovered your show and I think it’s hilarious. Hope the tv show comes to fruition, I would watch it for sure. Good luck with that.
thanks, Liz. we hope it does, too. you guys watching is a huge help.
Hey ladies, I think your twitter has been hacked, I just received two direct messages from you and one was about weight loss and I swear I am not fat, or are you just trying to tell me something!?
Just thought i’d let you know.
Cheers
Lisa
thanks lisa! we were hacked! i’ve never been hacked before. i felt so used. -ingrid
This is funny. You guys are funny.
I love your show and your wit! Thanks for putting this out there. Bottoms Up was hilarious! It’s like, butch is relative. Butch in relation to what or whom? I always kind of had that theory I just never vocalized it. Great stuff!
Hi! I am a queer living in Lincoln, Nebraska and I love your show! Just wanted you to know your films have had an impact far beyond the Slope.
that means so much to us. thanks for your message. it made our day 🙂
Your show is so completely funny. Thank you. We desperately search for anything good, almost always in vain. I am a Smithie, too, but write to you from the CT ‘burbs where my partner and I are finishing up with raising our kids. (It may as well be Nebraska). Thanks. You have to do the TV show. Please.
Louise! We find inspiration for each show because we get messages like yours. Thank you!
you guys are really funny- very natural and real- best wishes!
Hey you guys I just found this and it is SO AMAZING! Haha, it makes me laugh so hard, thanks for making this. Congrats on Season 1 and I’m looking forward to Season 2! Hope to run in to you at the co-op some time!
I love this, absolutely hilarious! Hope you guys make more episodes soon 🙂
we do, too! thanks!
Here is some love from Sweden! I laughed so hard my sides hurt.
i would LOVE to see a musical episode. you two ladies are hysterical, and I can’t wait for season 2. many thanks to you both.
My boyfriend and I watch your episodes and really connect to them as we figure out our relationship! Thank you for the laughs and reflections! Good luck with season 2!
Ps- I’m in a male burlesque troupe and we did an east/west side gays musical number. If you ever wanted help creating that I would totally help somehow.
Thanks so much Chris! I would KILL to see that musical number.
So glad you guys are back! Hilarious!!
Heart you!
Robin
I’m straight and think your show is hilarious.
or, I’m hilarious and think your show is straight.
which is it?
we’re hilarious and we think you’re gay.
Love your show ! .. As a Canadian I relate best to your snow … and your dog. I think gayness is better in the cold…. and people are realer because it takes more body heat to be fake.
Inspired,
Tara 🙂
I think gayness is better in the cold because gay is about purity, like snow is … and the whole frozen and then melting part is just so female, and like, sacred-ancient…. I get kind of turned on by snow, so did not realize that until just now.
ok, that’s it … thanks for making me laugh and wanting to make you laugh too !
Tara 🙂
I look forward to watching your episodes. You are hilarious. This last episode about babies was too funny. The comment about white babies looking like little benjamin buttons was classic. I hope to see many more, keep up the great work.
loved the new episodes! made me really laugh 🙂 hope to see a tv show develope, i could def watch more!
i’m a straight american guy musician living in berlin, stuck in a hotel room in luzern right now with neck spasms that woke me up at 4:00 am. I just ran into your show and watched all the episodes so far, and it’s probably the only thing that could make me feel like i belong in this world – why? (you might ask) – because your deadpan humor about yourselves (?) is actually so incredibly touching and sweet and also just hilarious, it gives me hope for humanity, which is a mistake, i know, but helps take away a little bit of the pain of these otherwise absolutely hellish and intolerable neck spasms. the truth.
I *LOVED* this.
My girlfirend won’t get this, which is why we’re breaking up…
But thanks! 😉
AHHHHAHAHAHA! That is the best reason for dumping someone I have ever heard. Thank you thank you thank you.
Yeah, and I’ll be fully prepared for the five stages of grief as well…
Just watched all episodes after reading an article about Web shows in The Guardian newspaper. Brilliant – I really love the show and hope for more (and longer) episodes very soon. Well done on writing something so funny and true.
Same here. Nothing in the UK that I know of is anywhere near as deliciously funny as this…and the acting is simply awesome. More, more, more
LOVE LOVE LOVE The Slope. Read about it in the Guardian paper, so glad I actually remembered that I had to check it out and actually checked it out. When my girlfriend gets back from work I’m sitting her down and making her watch every episode….evvvery episode.
thanks to all of our awesome Guardian viewers. what’s the equivalent of Park Slope in the UK? -Ingrid
Sadly, I don’t think we have anything even approaching an equivalent. Although we do the antithesis… #LipService. 😉
Well I live in Brighton which is the LGB capital of the UK but the thing about The Slope series is it doesnt matter what it’s about – it’s just human relationships, misunderstandings, talking shit in a way that makes you just hug yourself with delight. When is the next episode please?
Hey Sandra, thank you so much for watching! I’m so glad you like the show. The next episode will be up by Thursday 🙂
I think it’s awesome that you take the time to respond to your fans. I will most definitely tune in on Thursday. I look forward to your show.
Thanks, Liz!

Thanks Ben! I miss ol’ ILM!
you guys, i love your show so much. i need more. i check often for new webisodes but it’s been a while. i keep re-watching “miserable best friends who used to be together”. but so, what’s the scoop? seems like there’s some sort of movie in the works (congrats!) but when will THAT be? will there be webisodes in the interim??
Thanks, Sarah! You can learn more about Desi’s movie at http://www.disposablelovers.com and watch videos she’s making there. Ingrid is coming out with a new series as well, so check the site for more info on that!
Fantastic series, mondo funny!
thanks so much!
Your show is brilliant. I’m an IFP Alumni and recently read about The Slope in IFP newsletter. Are you accepting donations?
Thank you so much for the kind message! The show is no longer being produced, so we are not accepting donations, HOWEVER both Ingrid and I have moved on to Slope-related projects, including her web series FTo7th (www.fto7th.com) and my feature film, Disposable Lovers (www.disposablelovers.com). Check out the websites and get in touch via the site email to donate. If you’re interested in Disposable Lovers we would welcome donations in the form of $, locations & extras!
